Central Government clarifies Vijaywada Metro Rail Project

VIJAYAWADA (Metro Rail News): In a clarification about the Vijaywada Metro Rail Project released on December 12, the Central Government clarified that the respective State Governments formulate proposals for Metro rail projects.

MP Kanakamedala received a letter response from Union Minister Kaushal Kishore on September 1, 2017. The Government of India requested that the Government of Andhra Pradesh submit the Project’s revised proposal by the 2017 Metro Rail Policy. According to the official statement, “The Government of Andhra Pradesh has not presented any proposal in this regard.

The 2017 Metro Rail Policy mandates that the respective states produce DPRs and fund collection.

According to the centre, the state has been asked to send a proposal under the new metro policy, but it has not yet been filed.

The minister was responding to inquiries made to them who wanted to know if it was confirmed that despite the government’s request for the state of Andhra Pradesh to submit a revised proposal for the Vijayawada Metro Rail Project under the Metro Policy, 2017, the state government of Andhra Pradesh had not yet done so.
