New Delhi: On the occasion of World Tourism Day on 27th September, 2015, DMRC is organising “Explore Delhi through Metro”, a Metro walk to encourage residents and tourists to explore the city by Metro and experience Delhi’s heritage, culture and history.
The first walk is being organised from HUDA Metro station and will conclude at Chandni chowk Metro Station (both the stations are on Yellow line of Metro network).
During the walk, the participants will visit the Delhi Metro Museum at Patel Chowk and learn fascinating stories of the Delhi Metro from its inspection, Designing, Construction and Operations. The museum has a collection of display panels, historical photographs and exhibits tracing the major milestones related to DMRC. One can also purchase Metro souvenirs available for sale at the museum.
From Patel Chowk, the participants will take a metro ride to Shahjahanabad popularly known as “Old Delhi” and explore the Old Delhi’s history, architecture and culture. The Walk will conclude at Chandni Chowk Metro Station.
