NEW DELHI, INDIA (Metro Rail News): Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), which once sent a number of its officials to Hong Kong for training before the Delhi Metro railway services opened in the national capital in 2002, has now reached a milestone with the commencement of training for the operations and maintenance team of Dhaka Metro train. Dhaka Metro staff training is under training by Delhi Metro at its prestigious Development Academy known as Delhi Metro Rail Authority (DMRA) at Shastri Park Depot in Delhi.

According to a statement issued by the DMRC, the training of the first batch of Dhaka Metro staff and officers, including 19 Operations and 17 Rolling Stock officers, conducted by the Delhi Metro, started at Delhi Metro Rail Academy on 14 October 2021. The training of Dhaka Metro staff is part of an agreement signed between the DMRC and the NKDM Association, an association of foreign and Bangladeshi companies responsible for implementing the Dhaka MRTS project in neighbouring Bangladesh. Under the agreement, about 163 officials of the Dhaka Metro rail network will go ahead for training at the DMRA.

The duration of the course training will vary from 24 days to 156 days according to the participants’ job profiles. The DMRC said the training module includes interactive study sessions, simulators, demonstrations, on-the-job training, and more.
