EIB team visits chief secretary, discusses Gorakhpur and Agra metro projects

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has expressed its interest to partner with the government of Uttar Pradesh to implement the Gorakhpur Metro Light Rail project.

LUCKNOW (Metro Rail News): The European Investment Bank (EIB) delegation consisting of Zoltan Donath, Angeliki Kopsacheili, Esmeralda Francisco, Alexandre Heimann, Heloise Gornall-Thode, Srabani Sengupta and led by Catherine Ashton, visited chief secretary Durga Shankar Mishra on 14th April and discussed the current Metro rail projects which are under construction or planning in the state.

Mishra told the EIB team that the state government is committed in completing all the Metro projects on time. He said a project monitoring system had been put in place to ensure the timely completion of all the projects in the state.

He further said that apart from the extension of Lucknow and Kanpur Metro, work on the metro in Agra was in full swing while the work for light Metro would start very soon in Gorakhpur. The European Investment Bank (EIB) has expressed its interest to partner with the government of Uttar Pradesh to implement the Gorakhpur Metro Light Rail project.
