Maharail sets Oct 15 as deadline for selling land for Nashik-Pune railway track

NASHIK (Metro Rail News): MahaRail, which is constructing the 235 km railway line between Nashik and Pune has said that farmers must sell their land to the district administration by October 15 to get five times the valuation of the land. MahaRail will purchase 286 hectares of land from the two talukas in Nashik district (Nashik and Sinnar), out of which 249 hectares of land is from Sinnar.

The evaluation of all the land parcels in Sinnar’s 17 villages has been announced, and the process for obtaining the land from the farmers is ongoing. According to a MahaRail official, the process of purchasing the land is speeding up as the farmers have started moving forward. If the property is to be purchased under the usual procedure, the farmers will receive four times the value set forth.

According to MahaRail officials, they were in contact with farmers who were willing to sell their land. The official also informed that farmers are taking some time and there is no resistance as of now.
