AN OVERVIEW
Surat Metro Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) with multiple corridors and 36 stations developed to serve Surat, Gujarat.
DPR of Surat metro Phase-I was approved by the Gujarat govt in Jan 2017 & by the Central Govt’ cabinet in March 2019.
It will be executed by GMRCL & financed mainly via equity from GOI and Gujarat Govt on 50:50 basis and loan from bilateral or multilateral agencies. AFD has sent to lend €250 million for the project.
