PATNA(Metro Rail News):Â Two days âHands-on First Aid Trainingâ was concluded on Friday for the Patna Metro Project officials. The objective of the training is to empower trained officials to perform First Aid at Office, Site, etc. during emergencies/exigencies. All the officials who cleared the training & assessment sessions will be provided with a Competency certificate with validity.Â
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Project Director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), Ajay Kumar, said that Zero Harm and Safety at Patna Metro Project is our first priority. We work day and night in vulnerable conditions at the metro construction sites. Due to the vulnerability of the construction sites, a trained workforce is required to be deployed at the site who can respond to any emergency and take care of the victim at the site for his safe transition to the nearest medical Centre. Keeping this in mind, this hands-on training was conducted for selected officials from all departments of Patna Metro Construction Project. These trained officials will prove to be an asset for DMRC, who will further share their knowledge and also do a hand holding for other officials and workers deployed to the project sites.Â
A special briefing on CPR methodology & techniques was given by the Trainer, Dr R K Sharma, where officials from safety, electrical, civil and all other departments were given hands-on training for the CPR. Dr. Sharma explained the importance of CPR to be performed during the first four to six minutes on a cardiac arrest patient or any person injured to prevent him from becoming brain dead. CPR was demonstrated on a full-body mannequin. Â
It is to be noted, a mock drill is conducted on a regular basis by DMRC at the work sites to assess the preparedness and response of the site staff in case of any emergency or accidents. Â
