The Hemanta Mukhopadhyay to Beleghata route extends over 4.39 kilometres and includes four new stations: VIP Bazar, Ritwik Ghatak, Barun Sengupta, and Beleghata.

Infrastructure Developments in Kolkata Metro

Concurrently, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has started constructing a ramp on VIP Road leading to the underground tunnels towards the Airport station of the New Garia-Airport Metro corridor. The construction commenced after the Bidhannagar City Police cleared nearly 700 meters near the airport, setting the stage for RVNL to begin work on the last 950-meter underground section, which includes a 300-meter ramp and approximately 650 meters of tunnels.
