Lucknow, India ( Metro Rail News): Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (UPMRC) is making all attempts to extend the services of metro in the capital, and its purpose is that in the upcoming time the metro reaches every corner of the capital and controls the traffic on the roads.
These all 5 routes would work as a lifeline for the increasing population of Lucknow with developing metro connectivity in future. This is expected that 5-7 lakh people would travel in the metro every day in the upcoming ten years.
The MD of UPMRC, Kumar Keshav stated that there is a plan to expand the metro connectivity in Lucknow in the future but it could only be made by the state & central govt. He also stated that the population of Lucknow would exceed 45 lakhs in the upcoming 5 yrs. At that time if the 2 corridors of the metro are ready then lakhs of people on the road would receive a chance to travel the metro peacefully.
Though MD declared that the UPMRC team working to finish the metro project in Kanpur in the specified deadline but if the state govt demands to make a DPR report for 6 tracks based on the feasibility report in Lucknow then the DPR would be made.
Corridor-1: Secretariat-CG City South, Corridor-2: CCS Airport Metro Station-Atal Vihari Bajpai Stadium, Corridor-3: Indira Nagar-Atal Vihari Bajpai Stadium, Corridor-4: Charbagh-SGPGI Metro Station, Corridor-5: IIM Lucknow-Rajajipuram Station, Corridor-6: Munshi Pulia-Jankipuram.
