Delhi Metro|DMRC to install solar power facilities on the foot-over bridges

New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has decided to install solar power panels on the Foot Over Bridges (FOBs) provided at the stations of Faridabad corridor (Sarai to Escorts Mujesar) of Line-6 (ITO-Escorts Mujesar) for the production of solar power.

These FOBs have been constructed at all the Nine Metro stations of the Faridabad corridor for the convenient movement of the pedestrians. These solar power panels will be positioned atop the FOBs and will also provide shade to the pedestrians.

The FOB solar panels will produce 225 KW power in total (25 KW at each station’s FOB). The installation of these panels will be completed in next few months.

DMRC has so far installed solar power plants at all the stations of the Faridabad corridor and Ajronda Depot with a total generation capacity of 1.9 MWp. The power generated is being used for the lighting and other auxiliary requirements of the station and depot buildings.

The power Receiving Sub Station (RSS) of the Faridabad corridor has also been developed as a green building with a 50 kWp solar plant, rain water harvesting and constructed wet land type of Sewage treatment plant facilities.
