NOIDA, INDIA (Metro Rail News): Noida Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (NMRC) announced to provide the facility of toilets at the stations of Aqualine to the transgender people engaged with the NMRC. The announcement was made on the occasion of Transgender day. On the event, ‘The Toilet for all’ without having any restrictions on identity, ability and gender etc.
NMRC also made changes in the toilet signages and provided extra utility services like the foldable tabletop. Noida, Metro has overall 21 toilets, including the regular toilets, as metro stations are spread across different networks. According to the MD, NMRC, Ritu Maheshwari, toilets prevent gender discrimination against transgender people. She stated that designated existing toilets must be accessible for transgender people on a very priority basis. Moreover, toilets also contain bilingual signages to guide transgender people.
