NEW DELHI (Metro Rail News): A detailed plan for the construction for a 3 km Metro loop corridor that will connect government offices which are being built along Rajpath as part of the Central Vista redevelopment project will be completed by the end of this month.

According to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) officials, along with preparing the detailed project report (DPR), Delhi Metro will appoint a design consultant for the station interiors for which the tender has been floated.

The 3 km loop corridor will start and end at the Central Secretariat Metro station and will be having four stations whereas the timelines for the project have not been finalised yet as per the officials.

The exits from these four metro stations are likely to provide direct access to the office buildings via escalators, staircases and walkways.

According to the officials, the design consultant will work according to the specifications of the DPR, which include the dimensions of the Metro stations, their depth, the number of coaches to be deployed and the theme for the interior design. On this corridor, smaller trains with around 3-4 coaches are likely to be used.

The Central Vista project includes the redevelopment of Central Vista Avenue, the construction of a new Parliament building, the refurbishment of North and South Blocks, and the construction of new Central government offices, including a common Central Secretariat, and central conference facilities, etc.
