GNA approves DPR of a new line between Greater Noida Depot and Bodaki

GREATER NOIDA (Metro Rail News): The Greater Noida Authority Board approved the Metro route’s DPR (Detail Project Report) from Depot to Bodaki on 28th December. This DPR will be sent to the Government of India for approval. Efforts will be made to get financial assistance by connecting this project with PM Gati Shakti.

A multimodal transport hub is to be built at Bodaki in Greater Noida. Rail, metro, interstate bus stand and local transport facilities are to be developed here. The Depot is the last station of the Aqua Line Metro between Noida-Greater Noida. Metro is to be extended from here to Bodaki. The Noida Metro Rail Corporation has been entrusted with constructing the metro line. The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has prepared its DPR. The Greater Noida Authority also approved this DPR on 28th December.

According to the DPR, the length of the metro route from Depot to Bodaki will be around 2.6 km. About 416 crore rupees will be the estimated cost of the project. This route will also be elevated. Initially, the metro will be run with four coaches. Later it can be increased according to the need. The residents of Noida-Greater Noida will be directly connected to the multimodal transport hub with the construction of this route. Residents can get the facility of train or bus for onward journey. Now the DPR of this project will be sent to the Government of India after taking approval from the state government.

Another payment of Rs 453 crore is to be made by the Greater Noida Authority for developing the second phase of the under-construction Noida Airport at Jewar. The Authority will pay this in four instalments. The first instalment of about Rs 113 crore will be paid soon. The remaining amount will be paid by taking loans from banks. The authority board can pay this amount in four instalments by taking a loan.

Uttar Pradesh Government and Noida Authority have 37.5-37.5 per cent stake in Noida Airport, while Greater Noida Authority and Yamuna Authority have 12.5-12.5 per cent stake. Preparations are on to start flights from Noida airport in 2024.
