KANPUR (Metro Rail News): JMC Projects erects their first pier cap on the 27th of December evening, measuring 9.5 metres wide, in Kidwai Nagar for the Package KNPCC-07 of the Kanpur Metro Phase 1 project, which connects Transport Nagar Ramp and Naubasta Station.
This achievement for 5.427 km of the second and last elevated package of the 23.785 km Line-1 was made at pier P-56, constructed in November and is around 11 metres tall.
The civil construction contract for this stretch, worth Rs. 514.61 crores, was given to JMC Projects by Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) in June 2022. It is situated on the eastern terminus of Line 1 and has five elevated stations at Baradevi, Kidwai Nagar, Vasant Vihar, Baudh Nagar, and Naubasta.
Afcons Infrastructure accomplished the now-operational Package KNPCC-02R connecting IIT Kanpur and Motijheel approximately in six months after the contract was awarded.
Site conditions vary significantly across the nation, but SNC in Bengaluru took 12 months to complete the ORR Line’s first pier cap, Sam India-Gulermak JV in Delhi took 10 months to complete the extension of the Magenta Line, and Ranjit Buildcon took 7 months to complete the Ahmedabad Metro Phase 2 project.
