The package CS1 spans from Kadarsha Ni Nal to Dream City.

The Contract

Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) granted the construction contract for Package CS1 to a joint venture between Sadbhav Engineering and SP Singla Constructions (SEL – SPSCPL) in January 2021, setting a deadline of 30 months. Subsequently, the consortium delegated a project segment to Patel Infra, although the exact financial terms remain undisclosed.

Scope of the Package

Ten elevated stations will be constructed at Kadarsha Ni Nal, Majura Gate, Rupali Canal, Althan Tenament, Althan Gam, VIP Road, Woman ITI, Bhimrad, Convention Center, and Dream City.

Surat Metro

There’s currently no route operational on the Surat metro. However, the two lines are under construction, totalling 41.93 Kms. The two corridors selected for the metro system in Surat are designed to cater to different important sectors of the city’s economy:

1. Diamond Corridor (Sarthana to Dream City): This corridor is named the Diamond Corridor because it passes through Varachha, where raw diamonds are cut and polished.

  1. Line-1: Sarthana – Dream City
  2. Length: 22.77 km
  3. Type: Elevated (15.75 km) & Underground (7.02 km)
  4. Depot: Dream City (system’s operations control centre OCC to also be built here)
  5. Number of Stations: 20

2. Textile Corridor (Bhesan to Saroli):  It passes through the city’s Ring road-based textile market and the developing textile market on Saroli-Kadodara road.

  1. Line-2: Bhesan – Saroli
  2. Length: 19.26 km
  3. Type: Elevated
  4. Depot: Bhesan
  5. Number of Stations: 18
