NEW DELHI (Metro Rail News): Patil Rail Infrastructure has been awarded the contract for the supply of Fastening systems for ballastless tracks on the Delhi Metro’s Silver line.

Contract

DMRC had invited bids for its contract of 152500 fastening systems for ballastless tracks on the silver line in July 2023 itself. It had a deadline of 2 years.

Scope

The scope of the contract entails the Supply of a Fastening System (60000 sets 04 Anchor System and 92500 Sets 02 Anchor System) for Ballastless Track for Line10 (Aerocity to Tughlakabad), to be completed within a deadline of 2 years.

Bids Received

The bidders for the contract were

  1. Patil Rail Infrastructure with a bid of Rs 52.16 Crores
  2. Pandrol Rahee Technologies with a bid of Rs  56.19 Crores

Update on Silver Line

In the latest developments on Delhi Metro’s Silver Line, the UIC-60 turnouts and scissor crossover contract (Package DT-07) were awarded to Voestalpine VAE VKN India in August 2022. However, the track-installation work (Package DT-10) faced a setback when DMRC abruptly cancelled the tender in August 2023, leaving the project’s progress in limbo.

On a positive note, Kalpataru Projects International Ltd. secured the lowest bid for the 25 kV AC OHE traction contract (Package DE-08), marking a significant stride forward in advancing the Silver Line project.

Silver Line, Delhi Metro

The silver line of the Delhi Metro runs from Delhi Aerocity to Tughlaqabad. It is a 23.62 Km long line with four elevated & 11 underground stations. It has a total of 15 stations as Tughlakabad, Tughlakabad Railway Colony, Anandmayee Marg Junction, Tigri, Khanpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Saket G Block, Saket, Lado Sarai, Mehrauli, Kishangar, Masoodpur, Vasant Kunj (Sec-D), Mahipalpur and Delhi Aerocity.
