Bangalore (Metro Rail News): Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has decided to close platforms 1 and 2 at Baiyappanahalli metro station starting from 2nd March 2022. The Namma metro train will now operate from platform 3 for a period of 6 months.
The decision has been taken to continue the infrastructure development work on the Baiyappanahalli-Whitefield metro line. The metros have been arriving and departing from the same platform which led to certain confusion, so BMRCL has been making constant announcements from 11 am of 2nd March to decrease the problems faced by the commuters.
The authorities have said that there will be no change in operational timings and frequency of the trains and that they will try to maintain full decorum so that the commuters don’t have to face any difficulties during this period. BMRCL has assured us that they will continue making announcements for 6 months to avoid any problems.
According to the sources, the BMRCL has completed 97 per cent of the civil work on 1A extension (Biappanahalli-Visvesvaraya Industrial Area) and 99 per cent on 1B extension (Visvesvaraya Industrial Area-Whitefield).

Ohh.ok.. anyways not many people will be travelling in metro during the Pandemic. Also operating trains from the same platform is just like how trains terminated at Mantri Mall metro station when the UG Construction from Majestic to KR Market began in Jun/Jul 2014. So Not a Big Problem..
What BMRCL means 97% civil works completed?
They have to cross the railway line and several pillors are still under construction especially near the hanging bridge
