MUMBAI (Metro Rail News): MMRDA (Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority) has recently announced that RVNL ( Rail Vikas Nigam Limited) has received the Letter of acceptance (LOA) for the line 2B project of Mumbai Metro. 

The project consists of “Design, Manufacture, Installation, Supply, Testing and Commissioning of 2 nos. 110KV Receiving Substation including 110 KV, 25KV & 33KV cabling work, full 25KV Overhead Catenary System with Switching Station, 33Kv auxiliary power distribution system together with 33/0.415 KV auxiliary sub-station, and complete SCADA system for mainline & depot of Mumbai Metro line 2B of MMRDA.”

As per the announcement, RVNL has partnered with M/s SIEMENS India Limited to form a consortium, where RVNL owns 40% of the stake and M/s SIEMENS is the lead partner with a 60% share. The project’s estimated cost is approximately EUR 8,838,976 (excluding GST and customs fees) and Rs 300,11,81,354.

The Mumbai Metro Line 2B project is a crucial stage in the advancement of Mumbai’s transportation infrastructure. The project’s timely execution and enhanced commuting experience for the city’s inhabitants are expected to result from RVNL’s expertise in railway building and upkeep and state-of-the-art technological solutions of M/s SIEMENS.
