Siemens Bags Electrification Contract for Bangalore Metro’s Phase 2A & 2B

BANGALORE (Metro Rail News): Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) has won the electrification Contract for Bangalore metro’s Phase 2A & 2B. 

Package EPC5-CC

This Contract entails commissioning a 33 KV distribution system, several substations & auxiliary substations, and a SCADA system for the entire ORR line & Airport Line. It entails Bangalore Metro’s 57 km Blue Line entirely. 

Scope of the Contract 

The contract scope entails Engineering, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 33 KV distribution, 750V DC third rail traction electrification, including traction substations, auxiliary substations and SCADA system for Phase-2A & Phase-2B.

Contract 

The bids for the package EPC5-CC were invited in September 2023 with an unknown estimate and a 130-week (2.5-year) deadline.

The bids received for the tenders have been: 

Firm Bid 
Siemens – RVNL JVRs 769 Crore 
LinxonRs 835 Crore 
Larsen & ToubroRs 860 Crore 

Bangalore Metro Phase 2A & 2B

The forthcoming Bangalore Metro Phase 2A (ORR Line) and Phase 2B (Airport Line) projects, currently under construction, will link Silkboard to KR Puram and Bengaluru International Airport. This extensive line promises enhanced connectivity across key destinations, spanning 30 stations along the Outer Ring Road and national highway NH-44.
