NEW DELHI (Metro Rail News): Consortium of KEC International Limited and Siemens Limited wins contract of electrification works for North Eastern Railway (NER) sections. On 9th April 2021, IRCONÂ International Limited had issued a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) to a consortium of M/s. KEC International Limited & M/s. Siemens Limited for the supply and commissioning of Railway Electrification Work for various sections of NER on EPC mode.

Technical bids were opened for this tender on 19th February which revealed names of 12 bidders and it was revealed that 11 bidders qualified the technical round of evaluation and 1 bidder being disqualified.
On 22nd March, financial bids were opened in which Consortium of M/s KEC International Limited & M/s. Siemens Limited emerged as the lowest bidder for the contract and subsequently, awarded the contract for this work.
