KOCHI, INDIA (Metro Rail News): Kochi metro commuters will get a 50% discount on train fare on 02nd October 2021, on the 152nd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Cardholders will get cashback of the difference in amount to the card. In addition, the free ticket scheme for mentally challenged passengers and a 50% discount for their accompanying passengers will take effect from the day.
The frequency of trains too will be increased from 02nd October 2021. In addition, metro trains can subsequently be recognized by their ‘names’. Kochi metro has taken the step-in line with the pattern set by trains of Indian Railways. “The names synchronize with the culture of our country and will assist commuters in quick and easy identification of the trains,” said KMRL officials.
