NEW DELHI, INDIA (Metro Rail News): E. Sreedharan, famously known as the Metro man, announced his retirement from active politics. The news stirred the whole BJP unit of the Kerala region. He was the precursor of the Delhi Metro Rail Project, which earned him the distinction of Metro Man. He stated that the defeat in the Kerala assembly elections made him quite wiser. He also added that he was never a politician but remained a mere bureaucratic politician for some time. Sreedharan stated that he had turned 90, and of course, he could not run like a youngster now. Moreover, he is also associated with three different trusts and only wants to spend the rest of his life with them.

Sreedharan initially held that BJP had good prospects in Kerala, but the situation is now changing. Moreover, Sreedharan emphasized that if BJP needs to work a lot in Kerala to establish its foothold. After the party’s defeat in the assembly poll election, the central leadership asked about the report from Sreedharan, who himself lost from the Palakkad.

Sreedharan made it clear that it is a late entry and early exit, and it is not, and neither he is disgusted nor discontented. However, the BJP state president, K Surendran, expressed his surprise over the exit of Sreedharan. So Surendran announced early this year and called him his CM candidate.

The Metro man has also played a vital role in establishing the Konkan railway and rebuilding the Pamban rail bridge in Rameshwaram as it got destroyed by a storm in 1964.
