DELHI(Metro Rail News): There’s a buzz about the inauguration of the much-awaited RAPIDX trains on the Ghaziabad-Sahibabad priority corridor of 17 kms. It is substantiated by the visit of the Chief Minister of UP to inspect the Sahibabad station of RAPIDX. He also held a meeting with the officials of NCRTC, which has been entrusted with the task of implementing the RRTS project across the NCR.
After the inauguration of Phase:01, the RAPIDX trains will be covering 5 stations:
- Sahibabad
- Ghaziabad
- Guldhar
- Duhai
- Duhai Depot
It will cover a distance of 17 kms in just 12 mins that usually takes 35 minutes to cover by road. It will run at a speed of 160km/hr. A total of ten trains will be operational on this route with a capacity of 1700 passengers each. It’s gonna be a first-of-its-kind rapid rail facilitating easy and hassle-free commutation.
According to some reports, the project is expected to be operational by 2025. The project is being developed at a cost of Rs 30,274 Crore with an expected footfall of 8 lakh users every day, once the project is fully operational.
