Metro Rail News (New Delhi): Bringing good news to the metro Commuters of Bangalore, BMRC decided to open the complete stretch of the Purple line running from Chellaghatta in the Southwest to Whitefield in (Kadugodi) to the east. The Purple line has already begun its operations from this morning itself, with the first metro leaving the terminal stations at 5:00 A.M.
It completes a long-pending demand of the Bengaluru residents to ease their lives by allowing them a convenient and traffic-less commuting option from busy and highly prominent areas like Whitefield, Krishnarajapura, MG Road & Majestic stations.
The CMRS inspection for the pending stretches, namely, KR Pura-Baiyappanhalli & Kengri-Chellaghatta, was completed in September, and nods were received soon after that. BMRC announced a complete opening without any formal inauguration on 8th October 2023. It takes the total toll of operational coverage of the Bengaluru metro to 73.81 Km with 66 metro stations.
The metro Journey on the entire stretch will cover 37 metro stations in about 82 minutes, charging people Rs. 57-60.
