L&T & J Kumar awarded Delhi Metro Phase IV tunneling contracts

DELHI (Metro Rail News): Larsen & Toubro and J Kumar Infraprojects on 9th March 2022, Wednesday were awarded 2 underground tunnelling contracts which are DC-09 & DC-08 of the 65.1 km Delhi Metro Phase 4 project‘s 23.622 km Silver Line.

Both of these firms had submitted the lowest revised bids in mid-February after the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) re-invited price bids from the technically qualified bidders of the original round.

Both packages are being financed by JICA through Rs. 8,390 crore ODA loan and have a 42-month deadline.

Package DC-08

This 6.116 km Aerocity – Kishangarh section is on the western end of the 23.622 km Silver Line and comprises 4 stations at Aerocity, Mahipalpur, Vasant Kunj and Kishangarh.

  • DMRC’s Estimate: Rs. 1349 crore
  • Awarded to: J Kumar Infraprojects (JKIL)
  • Final Contract Value: Rs. 1611.74 crore (INR 1426,99,50,000 + USD 2,45,00,000)

The scope of this project includes Design and Construction of Twin Tunnel (Up & Down Line) by Shield TBM, Cut and Cover Tunnel box and four Underground stations namely Aerocity, Mahipalpur, Vasant Kunj and Kishangarh with Entry/Exits & Connecting subways from chainage (-) 760 mt. to 5356.285 mt. of Aerocity to Tughlakabad Corridor of Phase-IV of Delhi MRTS.

Package DC-09

This 6.51 km section, with twin-tunnels precisely in the middle of the Silver Line will connect Kishangarh Station’s east-end (chainage 5356.285) with a ramp (chainage 11867.000) west of Saket G Block Station through 4 stations at Chhattarpur (interchange with Yellow Line), Chhattarpur Mandir, IGNOU and Neb Sarai.

  • DMRC’s Estimate: Rs. 1428 crore
  • Awarded to: Larsen & Toubro (L&T)
  • Final Contract Value: Rs. 1737 crore (INR 1533,50,10,000 + USD 2,70,00,000)

The scope for this project includes Design and Construction of Twin Tunnel (Up & Down Line) by Shield TBM, Cut and Cover Tunnel box, Underground Ramp and four Underground stations namely Chhattarpur, Chhattarpur Mandir, IGNOU and Neb Sarai with Entry/Exits & Connecting subways from chainage 5356.285 meters to 11867.000 meters. of Aerocity to Tughlakabad Corridor of Phase-IV of Delhi MRTS.
